The Pepperl+Fuchs KCD2-SR-EX1.LB is a high-performance intrinsically safe isolated barrier designed for the reliable transmission of digital signals from hazardous areas to safe areas. As part of the widely used K-System signal conditioning range, this switch amplifier provides galvanic isolation between field devices and control systems while ensuring compliance with intrinsic safety requirements in potentially explosive environments. It is specifically designed for use with NAMUR proximity sensors and dry contact inputs, making it an ideal solution for industrial automation, process control, and safety instrumented systems.

The module accepts input signals from NAMUR sensors or mechanical contacts installed in hazardous locations and safely transfers these signals to the control side through relay outputs. By providing complete electrical isolation between the hazardous and non-hazardous circuits, the KCD2-SR-EX1.LB helps protect personnel, equipment, and plant operations while maintaining accurate signal integrity. The device can also function as a signal splitter, allowing one input signal to control two independent relay outputs for enhanced system flexibility.
